The 36-Hour Screen Jam by KL20 @ Johor is a nationwide filmmaking challenge bringing together Malaysia's aspiring filmmakers and creative talents to turn ideas into original 10-minute short films — all within 36 hours! Hosted at Iskandar Malaysia Studios (IMS), only 30 talents will be selected to collaborate, create, shoot, edit and deliver their film in this ultimate creative sprint. Got the talent? Got the story? The challenge kicks off at 9:00 AM on 27 September 2026 and the clock stops exactly at 9:00 PM on 28 September 2026. Teams have exactly 36 hours to conceptualize, shoot, edit and bring their stories to life!

The winning short film (max 10-minutes) will be announced on 29 September 2026 at KL20 @ Johor, in front of startups, founders, investors, and industry leaders.

Challenge Details

🙋 Eligibility: Open to Malaysians aged 16 to 40 years old.
🎥 Format: Produce a complete, original short film of no more than 10 minutes.
🤝 Team Size: Form a team of up to 5 participants. Bring your best creative talents together!
⏳ Deadline: Final cut must be delivered online before 9:00 PM, 28 September 2026.
